Launch case studies on Drupal Content Managment System (CMS)

McDowell Purcell Law Firm Website re-design for easy updates (Drupal CMS)

Mcdowell Purcell is a commercial law firm based in Dublin, Ireland.

The brief for this project was to customise their site such that the it allowed them the ability to make major updates by a non-technical member of staff i.e. not a programmer.

Following an audit of the legacy system we saw that we could implement a brand new site for much less than the cost of extensive repairs and improvements with a return on the investment of less than 1.5 years.

The site redesign has achieved this goal and has seen its site traffic increase by 27% the month following the implementation of the new system.

The cost of maintaining the site is has been significantly reduced as all of the updates are now being completed by in-house.

Comfort Disc Heating Manufacturer - Old inefficient Customised CMS gets sidelined, Drupal implemented.

Comfortdisc is an Irish manufacturer operating in the heating and air-conditioning industry. We performed some repairs to their legacy site however being a 10 year old system it lacked the ability to rapidly deploy new pages, blogs, video etc.

The site was moved to a new system called drupal which is a modern website Content management system (drupal CMS).

The company now enjoys all the benefits of the new system and have seen their site ranking increase significantly on Google (Content is still king say the Googlers, this certainly appeared to be true in this case).

The Showband Show - "The guys at Launch.ie did a fabulous job on Today FM's Ray Foley Show"

The group’s previous website was an elegantly designed site however it lacked a system to allow them to make frequent updates (updates could only be performed by a programmer).

This meant that the showband-show were unable to add vital information for site visitors such as; latest gigs, news, videos or playlists. Lack of new information was detrimental for site traffic.

The new site has an easy to use system (it can be easily updated by the crew in 1 minute from a mobile phone), complete with all the recent information, slick videos and even some glitzy polls to get a better understanding of their audience.

The website also features up to the minute news from their facebook fan page which has seen a major bump in traffic.

BlueSkyCarbon - "Give us the ability to rapidly change marketing banners i.e. in less than a minute"

Blueskycarbon is an environmental standards group who rely heavily on their website to deliver marketing messages to their customers.

This project involved the migration of their existing site to a “content management system” designed for maximum flexibility by the client. The re-design in this case enabled the client to have total control of the site.

Total control meant tools allowing the company to rapidly add content such as photos, text, RSS feeds, News, blogs and advertising banners as easily as they would add these items to facebook.

The main caveat to the brief was that all of these updates would need to be performed by a non-technical members of staff in 10 minutes or less (the final solution enabled them to update the site in 1 minute or less).

The old site had quite a few clunky flash banners that were slow loading and were not visible on ipad/iphone so these were replaced and can now be updated via the content management system(both image and text).

The Foundry

This legacy foundry site had loading issues, a CMS that wasn't working properly and a lack of control for the inhouse admin. Launch.ie overhauled the site to make it look like new.
